I wish I could say it was bittersweet, but I’m really looking more forward to post-production than any part of the movie because this is where the elements all come together: acting, sound, cinematography, special effects… it’s a thrilling feeling and I couldn’t be happier doing anything else.
I’m extremely grateful to the cast for their work over the past 5 months of sporading filming. With over 14 hours of raw footage, I am hoping to have a first edit done in early October 2014, which I will be able to continue to work on throughout the winter.
Meanwhile, new opportunities for projects continue popping up. I will hopefully have some announcements soon. “The Veterans Town” is, of course, high priority as developments continue this week with a Congressional field hearing hosted by the House Committee on Veterans Affairs regarding the proposed closure of the Hot Springs VA.
And then there’s “Never Been to Graceland.” At the Jamie Klotz’s Diary premiere in September 2013, I stated a very ambitious goal to film it through 2014 and release it in 2015. Clearly this goal isn’t going to happen as my expectations for this project have grown exponentially. As the script process comes to its first goal, expect to start seeing casting calls for the many roles this film will require!
Wish me luck!
