Hello! I’m Justin Gausman!
I’m a Hot Springs, SD-based filmmaker, playwright, writer, storyteller and Elvis enthusiast. I’ve been very fortunate to have worked in many different creative fields and have experience in theater/stage production, film/video production, music production, photography, and website & social media.
Major projects as of 2017 include work for the Save the VA Committee, Mammoth Site of Hot Springs, Fall River Historical Society, work with Black Hills-based bands like Granite Sun, Fall River Rising and Sailed to Break, Southern Hills Community Theatre, Hot Springs Public Library, Hot Springs School District, and personally initiated projects like my debut feature film “The Incredible Search for Jamie Klotz’s Diary,” and its sequel “The Extraordinary Secret of Jamie Klotz’s Diary II.”
The project I am most proud of is my short film about Elvis fans, “Never Been to Graceland.”
Some of my work has been screened for Senators, House Representatives and former Secretary of Veterans Affairs Eric Shinseki in relation to the Save the VA efforts. I am currently serving as the President of the Southern Hills Community Theatre.
Future projects are planned to include a restrospective book about the efforts to Save the VA, a comedy entitled “Brochet,” and an action-adventure titled “Haley Fisher’s Diary” – a reimagining of the Jamie Klotz’s Diary series.
